Ooh la la, jewelry for your curtains

Wow!  Can you believe we have already been together for 101 posts??  Who knew when Covid hit I would finally start a blog?  I have followed blogs for YEARS!  I always secretly wanted to start one, but I thought who would be interested in what I have to say?  Well, as it turns out, my followers keep increasing daily, I get comments, and emails from you all, you message me through Facebook and Hometalk and I reply to each and every one of you!  I enjoy the questions, how I did a project, where did I find something in my home, and the love you share with me.  I really do appreciate you!  I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart! Ok, so I was so super excited to share with you an idea that popped up in this brain of mine and I got myself excited and you excited to know what it was about... I was beginning to sweat it since the brooches did not arrive Thursday, nor on Friday, and I promised this post for Saturday... can you believe they showed up today after 4:00?  I want

Peanut's Two Year Gotcha Day Anniversary

Image
It's official, this wild child of a Beagle-German Shepherd has officially made it two years with us this past weekend!  Of course, he got a new toy... and it lasted five hours, improvement over Christmas' similar toy... how he chews through them so quick is beyond me.  I just wish I could find something that holds his attention and something that will last.  He must have a lot of pent up frustration is the only thing I can think of.  If you know of any toys that a strong chewer can have, by all means, let me know! Silly boy, putting it up over his head... I worked upstairs on Saturday after I got the brooches (if you missed that post, you can find it here ).  Of course Peanut was by my side the entire time.  He is so funny, he watches everything you do.  I have told Mr. Vintage it is like he doesn't know how to be a dog.  He doesn't go and play and do dog things... he likes to be with me, watching what crazy thing I will come up with next or lay at my feet while I do

Easy Garlic Chicken

Image
Easy Garlic Chicken  Did I tell you, or did I tell you, we eat a lot of chicken around here.  I have another recipe for you to try if you are searching for something different.   2 chicken breasts cubed, if they are on the large side, you can get away with one 2 chopped onions 1 bag of frozen cauliflower, riced 1 T garlic powder 1 t paprika 1 t Italian seasoning 4 T butter 1/4 c parmesan cheese Cook chicken in skillet with half of the butter, once cooked through, remove from skillet and cube chicken, set off to the side.  In the same skillet, place remainder of butter, onion, cauliflower, and add spices to mixture. Cover and let cook through, once the chicken has been cubed, you can add this back into the vegetable mixture.  Once the onions are translucent and cauliflower is soft, add parmesan cheese, cook for another 2-3 minutes, remove from heat and serve. The easier the dish, the more I like it.  Mr. Vintage said he would eat this again so I am taking that as the high sign to share

I found a coffee table very similar to mine!

Image
Oh my gosh you guys, I could not wait any longer to share with you something that I found! Do you recall the coffee table that was free to me?  If you missed that post, you can find it here  and it's winter styling  here .   Well in my browsing today, I came across a coffee table and I thought to myself wow that looks just like mine. I looked a little closer at it and decided it very much looked like the original table that was given to me, minus the big finger nail polish remover stain! You see, we decided to remove the chippy paint and have the original wood, but the one I found is pretty close to what the table originally looked like. I couldn’t wait to share with you my find since I do get a lot of questions and comments about this piece! You can see mine below. That table is very near and dear to me since we put so much work into it and my sister gave it to us. (I am a total sentimental schulp {yes, I make up words too!}). The one I found is actually at a pretty good price; he

I decided I was hijacking my mom's blog today so I could talk to you about ME!  You would not believe the excruciating pain she made me go through at the vet this past weekend.  You see, I am suffering from allergies.  I know she did it to help me, but you should have seen the needle they stuck in my neck not once, but twice!  It was at least 1/2 in wide and 10 inches long!  My eyes got huge... I thought oh here we go, she has finally had enough of my shenanigans and she is going to leave me here... but as it turned out it was so I could have my blood tested for allergies.  I still got to go home with my parents and I let them know I was not real happy with the events that morning.  I mean, would you be happy with a big ole' needle being stuck in your neck?  Heck no!  I was so sad... when it was all said and done and I was back in the car, I let EVERYONE know, especially the pooch walking into the vet.  I told him, get the heck outta here... they will stick you, run for your li

Easy Baked Chicken

Image
Easy Baked Chicken Recipe I have another super easy chicken recipe for you!  If you have followed for any length of time, you know I like easy, but I also have to be gluten free due to a wheat, barley, and rye allergy.  This recipe is for anyone though, my husband loves it when I make this dinner... I would never share with him how easy it really is, he can think I slave over it all night after a long day at work! We have been taking advantage of the curbside pick-up with Gordon Food Services (GFS).  I purchase their fresh chicken breasts; they are so large we spilt them in half for the both of us and sometimes I can even cut one into thirds.  I am a big fan of Pico de Gallo and purchase it already premade.  If you have time to make your own then I am coming on over for dinner, we can make this recipe together!  There is nothing quite like homemade Pico de Gallo, my mom makes it in the summer and I am always waiting for some to come my way.  😊 Ok, ready for how involved this recipe is

You will never guess what we did

Do you love surprises where you expect dull and bland and you get BAM...  a wonderful surprise... something unexpected, but you like it... and you decide this is the way everything in life should be...  If you answered yes to above, then I have a pleasant surprise for you today... which leads me to my question, what to you think about closets?  If you are thinking to yourself, well Cara, I thought we were going to see a reveal and I do not think about them because well, they hold stuff so who cares?  I would reply well yes, they hold stuff and we do have a reveal, but they can be pretty too.  You see when I started out in our journey of rehabbing this cozy cottage, I decided I wanted to make every square inch of it "fancy pants"... so I keep plugging away at it one square inch at a time. You saw the organization of our bathroom closet, if you missed it, you can find it here  and if you like to label things, you can see a post here .  I do love a good labeling project, good gr
