Whimsy Home Wednesday No. 41

Welcome to the Whimsy Home Wednesday Link Party. Today we are sharing the chosen posts from Whimsy Home Wednesday No. 40.

Why hello there!  How are you doing today?

We've been staying busy here around the cottage.  When I was working, I rarely left the house during my down time and on the weekends.  I guess we have always preferred to stay in, what we call "Under the Dome".  Do you feel the same way?

Even now, it is rare that I leave the house, and if I do?  Oh, Bentley is in tow, riding in the backseat.  Do you know he sits up on his rear end in the car with his arm up on the ledge like a hooman?  If I could get a photo of this, I would share it, but I can never drive and snap a pic (safety first), but it is quite comical to see.

Vintage inspired table legs

The legs to our table are coming along nicely, but the humidity here is killing the project.  The varnish is not drying and it is taking much longer than anticipated in between coats.  Rookie here, wanted it done like yesterday...

Halloween Wreath

I finished up a Halloween wreath.  Too early for you?  I always find myself lagging behind others when it comes to the holidays, but I am trying to stay on top of things this year.

Succulents

And since I claimed to be the succulent whisperer, here are my babies.  This one is getting so big!  I would say it is about the size of a salad plate.  I am going to let them run wild in this small gravel bed by our patio.  As you can see, there are a few weeds too, but hey, I never claimed to be perfect.

Whimsical Home Projects From Our Features

Congratulations to the featured posts of Whimsy Home Wednesday! I enjoy being able to visit each post to see what other's are up to around the web, don't you?

This week, I chose Debra with Common Ground sharing with you her Vintage Birdcage Candleholder with Seashells.  I love the way Debra has this way of creating a home with her vintage and antique finds.  I would love to spend a day thrifting and antiquing with her since she always has so many wonderful finds to share with us.  Hop on over and check out her beautiful vignette, be sure to check out every detail, she never disappoints.

Debra is also a bird lover like myself.  You can find so many bird pictures and the like when you visit her blog.  In fact, do you see the photo displayed here?  Love it!  I am still working out a way to create a vintage seed display case like Debra's, good luck to me!

    1. Stephanie, he is so ornery, we never know what he will come up with next. I am so happy we took the chance on this pup because he keeps me company, and we spend every day together. I enjoyed making the wreath, I find it to be relaxing. I finally have something I can grow! Yeah for me.

    1. I am always so happy to see you MaryJo! We may live on opposite sides of the country, but I visit often to see what you have been up to! I am looking forward to seeing your projects for fall! :) YES! This weather has been a slight pain when it comes to working on projects. We finally finished up last night, yeah! Bentley is a stinker, but we love him so much!

  4. Hi Cara, thanks so much for the very sweet shout out and feature of my birdcages! Your idea of a fun flea market outing sounds wonderful. We have so many great places here... just not enough money to buy all the good stuff! Thanks so much for hosting each week, your pup sounds hilarious! Hope the humidity improves it's like living in a wet blanket here in sw Missouri.

    1. Absolutely Debra! I think Missouri sounds like the perfect place to visit to find vintage items. Ohio doesn't really have so many places to visit. We have been all over the state, since I am always on the search for something unique and new to me. That is a good analogy, it is like a wet blanket here too. Yuck! Bentley is one special pup. :)
