Whimsy Home Wednesday No. 31

Welcome to the Whimsy Home Wednesday Link Party. Today we are sharing the chosen posts from Whimsy Home Wednesday No. 30.

Do you know the reason I began this blog?

After following blogs for over a decade, I decided during covid I would give it a try.  That wasn't the only factor though, KariAnne Wood with Thistlewood Farm began teaching a class in how to get started on writing your very own blog.   I thought long and hard about it since I was unsure if I should actually go through with it.  A friend of mine said, you can stretch a dollar and people like to know how to decorate without spending a lot of money so JUST DO IT, famous words from Nike, huh.  So I signed up and began learning so many things!

You see, when I read blogs for so many years, I was a quiet reader.  Never one to speak up or make my presence known, I would read each post from beginning to end, look at pictures and study them getting ideas for our own home, but I never made a peep.  In fact, there are many bloggers today who I have followed for more than a decade, but they are none the wiser.  I sometimes still keep quiet, but continue to read along because I enjoy it.

I had no idea if I would continue to blog after people were back to normal life, but I have made friends with yes, other bloggers and non-bloggers alike, I found I really enjoy writing, and sharing some of our crazy ideas we have around our home.  A large factor in continuing for me was that I had to stay home after everyone else went back to work due to illness, but I have learned a lot, grown as a person, and enjoy the fact I get to continue to share and meet new folks daily.

I just wanted to say thank you for reading along with us whether you are a blogger yourself, or someone who enjoys reading them, seeing the progress no matter how slow on our cottage, and for those of you who never reach out, I say hello, and thank you from the bottom of my heart.  I was once a quiet reader myself, so I understand, but I do respond to each and every comment, reply to emails, and even chuckle at some of your responses.  I think every now and then, we need to be human and let our thoughts be heard.

Whimsical Home Projects From Our Features

Congratulations to the featured posts of Whimsy Home Wednesday! I enjoy being able to visit each post to see what other's are up to around the web. This week wasn't any different than any other week for me. So difficult to make a decision on just one post.

This week I chose to feature Debbie, with Debbie Dabble Blog, French Country Vintage Farmhouse.  Debbie has so many wonderful vintage pieces that she shares in her kitchen, along with this lovely Planters Peanut tin.  I am so in love with it, along with several other pieces she has.  Isn't that a cute way to display your rolling pins?  Go on over, and check her out.

    1. Thank you CoCo. You just made my day when I was feeling a bit blah this week. I am always so excited to visit with you and see your beautiful home and ideas. I think sometimes we all need a lift, the world seems to be a dark place these days, and anytime I can make someone else feel good, I take that opportunity to do so. Thank you for your kind comments.
