Funny Dog Stories

Rolling in Laughter: Hilarious Dog Antics That Will Tickle Your Funny Bone

Get ready for a paw-sitively delightful story through a day in the life of Bentley, our lovable pup. From playful antics to heartwarming moments, this story unveils the joy and charm that Bentley brings into our daily routine. This day also accurately captures the delightful adventures that is the spirit and personality of our furry kiddo.

Recently, a curious reader reached out to inquire about Bentley's well-being. It brought a smile to my face, reminiscing about the days when I used to share countless tales of his mischievous adventures. For those who have been wondering about the antics of that playful pup, rest assured – Bentley is still the same ornery character, and I've got some delightful stories to share.

Taking a snooze after a long day of playing in the snow

First, I'd like to say, I am deeply grateful for the outpouring of support after sharing my vaccine reaction journey. Your comments, emails, and messages have overwhelmed me with kindness. As I navigate this experience, I've realized many others are going through similar situations. My hope was to raise awareness about the potential impact of the virus, fostering a community where we can share and support one another through our unique journeys and I like to think it is happening here in our little corner of the internet, I thank you for your support.

Now let's get on to that rascally pup and see what he was been up to.

As I've been a bit slow in returning to the craft room from my most recent bout of COVID, I figured it was time to weave a narrative about our beloved Bentley. Just when we think, or perhaps hope he's maturing and becoming less mischievous, he surprises us every single time.

Celebrating his fifth birthday on Christmas Day, I find it hard to believe how quickly time has flown. It feels like just yesterday that we brought home this little troublemaker, a tiny ball of fur and sharp teeth.

The other day, while I was in the basement doing laundry, a comical incident unfolded. It turned out that I accidentally dropped a few "garments" as I moved items from the washer to the dryer. Unfortunately, one of those items wasn't something you'd want casually displayed on the floor for visitors to see, especially accompanied by one lonesome sock. Unaware of the mishap, I continued with my chores.

Meanwhile, Bentley was lazily lounging upstairs in bed. When I decided to run the vacuum cleaner, he sprinted down the stairs at top speed, only to wipe out around the staircase – a clear sign that something was amiss. Oblivious, I continued with my cleaning routine.

As I vacuumed the first floor, diligently collecting dog hair, I reached the dining room. To my surprise, right in front of the china cabinet, I spotted the misplaced sock and a certain undergarment. I couldn't help but exclaim, "Bentley, you naughty boy!"

As I stumbled upon my lost laundry items, Bentley nonchalantly strolled into the dining room, a hint of panic in his eyes. He quickly searched the area trying to locate his loot, and then looked up at me, attempting to school his features. I couldn't help but wonder if he was thinking, "Yeah, you found it. So what?" Once assured that I didn't make a fuss, he whisked away for more adventures in the TV room.

Bentley: 1, Mom: 0

I like to burrow under the covers, do you see I even have my own pillow?

Next on the agenda was a showdown in the TV room at noon. Armed with my trusty sweeper, I entered the room, and Bentley leapt off the couch in a flash. Toys were scattered; I looked to him, and he gave me a defiant look, challenging me to try and interfere with his possessions.

Vacuuming in the TV room always turns into an amusing battle. Bentley insists his toys stay exactly where they are, refusing to let them be put away. Amid barks and snarls, he threw a temper tantrum, making it clear that his toys were off-limits. Despite his protests, I managed to squirrel the toys away and successfully sweep the floor – a brief moment of dog hair-free bliss.

Bentley: 1, Mom: 1

Some might label Bentley a spoiled brat, a sentiment my mother shares. Unable to have children of our own, Bentley receives all the attention. Trying to reason with a pup who fears losing his possessions has proven futile, making my days anything but uneventful. Yet, despite the chaos, I wouldn't trade him for the world. As I share these tales, you can find him right by my side, still a mama's boy, laying at my feet as I peck away on the keyboard.

We recently experienced a Snow Day in Ohio, you can see our kiddo playing the day away below with his big red ball... best purchase ever!  It tuckers him out, and keeps him occupied so I can have some down time from the chaos, even for only a few minutes.

If you enjoyed learning more about our pup, give us a shout out and we will share more of his antics.  Not a boring day goes by with him in the house.  We hope you have a lovely weekend.

  1. Hello Cara! Your puppy post just brought a huge smile to my face on a cold and dreary weekend night. Thanks for sharing, I bet the love and daily antics make you laugh and provide a great distraction. I read your post about Covid and I'm so sorry to hear that you've been struggling. You are certainly not alone. I'm sure you see that from your own post, but I've heard so many stories from people who are suffering, as well, it's just awful. I hope the camaraderie and support you've gained from sharing with your community helps. Feel good my friend.

    1. Thank you Kim, I agree, it is more prevalent than some may think. I am so happy Bentley brought a smile to your face. He tends to do that for me on the daily, and I thought why not share more of his antics. He is quite the ornery boy, and I think we sometimes need a bit of that in our lives, he keeps us on our toes that is for sure.

    1. Thank you Molly, he is an ornery kiddot that is for sure. I love seeing pups playing too, in the past, I would share some of things he would get up to, and I think I may reintroduce those since it seems selfish to keep him all to myself. LOL. Hope you are doing well.

    1. He loves to burrow down under the covers Donna. I have read it is a beagle thing, and since he is half beagle, I guess that explains a lot. He is a snow snorkeler some days, but this particular day he was too eager to push that ball around in the snow.

    1. Thank you Ann, he is so ornery, but I think those are the ones who make life fun, or at least interesting and never boring. He's been a Velcro dog of late, and when I need to leave, it is a rush to see who can get out the door first.

  5. Bentley has definitely hit the love lotto with you guys, Cara! It gives me the giggles that you don't take his antics too seriously and let him have a little mischievious adventure here and there. His sweet face on the bed is so funny, like don't be too mad at me ok? I was just having a little fun. I can't get over all the snow on the ground. He's so adorable out there living his best life! Hugs, CoCo

    1. He is sneaky like that Karalee, always up to some mischief, but I am just happy we do not have to go through the puppy stage with him again. That was a learning experience for both of us I think.

    1. I am one state away Debbie, and I agree, I love snow too! There is something about having everything covered in all white, the quietness the snow brings, I feel like it is a fresh slate of our surroundings. That has to be so exciting that the twins were born on Joey's birthday! He will never forget their birthday. My sister was born on our aunt's birthday too. I enjoy spoiling him, he is our four legged child, and likes to keep this house turned upside down most days. I am looking forward to more baby photos! Have a wonderful visit my friend!
