1955 Ford Country Squire Station Wagon For Sale

Searching for 1955 Ford Country Squire Station Wagon For Sale?  We found a 1955 Ford Country Squire Station Wagon For Sale that is my dream car.

Being a Vintage Gal, you would have to know this would include cars too, right?  Oh yes!  I do love certain vintage cars and I found the one I would love to have!

Do you want to take a guess which cars would get me excited?

Well, there is an odd assortment to be honest with you.  My dream cars would include vintage station wagons, Jeep Wagoneers, Ford Broncos, International Scout, VW Bug, VW Thing, and possibly a VW Bus...

Quite the menagerie of vehicles, huh?  This past weekend I decided I was going to search for a vintage car.  I happened upon this beauty.

Photos sourced from Harwood Motors.

Oh yes, I am in LOVE with this 1955 Ford Country Squire Station Wagon.  When I found this pretty lady, I said oh Hubby, I need this car!  Please?  Of course, you would know, he is not so much into vintage cars, but me?  Love, love, love them!

Do you know I will watch the Barrett-Jackson Auto Auction for hours on end?  I actually saw one sell on their auction similar to this one in aqua.  My heart began to pick up when I saw it, I smiled from ear to ear, and said oh, that is my dream car! Perhaps one day I will own one just like it.

Mr. VS's response?  Really?  You like that car?  My reply?  What is there not to like, or should I say love?

The aqua would have totally been me, but this cream and wood?  I am perfectly A-ok with it too!  Quite classy if you ask me.

Are the fins not dreamy?  The round taillights?  Shiny chrome bumper?  White walled tires?  Oh my goodness!  What is there not to like here?  I have always wanted a station wagon.  I thought they were so neat when I was a child, as an adult?

It's on my bucket list to own one similar to this one.  Maybe one day... and it would be my everyday car.  What is the point in owning something like this if you cannot drive it everyday?  To me, there is no point.

Now long, large cars have never been my thing because it scares me to drive something I cannot see over the end of the hood.  I am a short gal... seeing over the end of the hood is important to me.  I do not want to hit everything in my path... but I think I could make an exception for this lovely.  I would just need to park far, far away from others.  😉

They just do not make them like they used to, do they?

Personally, I think white wall tires are so attractive.  Something I never look at on newer cars, but the rims on this one?  I can find the beauty in them.  They are just perfect.

Do you know when Mr. VS and I began dating he would talk about rims on different cars and I was like who cares?  It is a car, it gets you from point A to point B.  I just never paid attention to those details.

Vintage classic cars?  Now that is a totally different story for me.  I look over every detail and take it all in.

What are your thoughts on bench seats?  I recall as a child, I liked bucket seats... as an adult, I am not hating the bench seats.  The drawback?  If you are riding with me, you will be hugging that dashboard because short gals have what?  Short legs of course!

Mr. VS says I sit too close to the steering wheel, but my short legs do need to be able to reach the pedals too.  Pedal extenders?  LOL.  Just kidding, I do not need that in my car, it is why I always go for a smaller SUV.

Funny story, my mom is 4'10" and she had to sit on a telephone book in order to drive when she received her drivers license.  In those days, the 1970's anyway, seats were not electric.  No adjusting seats so you could better see over the steering wheel.  She appreciates the modern day amenities offered in cars today, like adjustable seats with a flick of a button.

Now, that is a steering wheel!  This appears to be in mint condition.

I am not so sure I have seen a car with this age look so good?  I think I am in love.  I found this beauty on Classics Autotrader.  If you are into classic cars, you can find about anything you are looking for on this site.

Does the idea of a classic car draw you in or do you prefer a newer model?  Mr. VS has a Ford Explorer and the electrical stuff has been a nightmare.  This has really turned me on to the idea of a classic car, no worries about electrical issues on a car like this.  Time will tell.  I am in no hurry to make a purchase, I do not drive much these days anyway.  We are one day closer to the weekend... are you not ready for it?  This week has been s-l-o-w... wishing my life away for a respite. It’s too bad we do that every week, isn’t it?
