Fab Friday Finds 004

Searching Fab Friday Finds?  We are happy to share our Fab Friday Favorite Find internet photos that inspired us this week.

Fab Friday's are all about sharing those beautiful photos of homes or designs that catch our eye during the week while browsing.  English and British design seems to have caught our attention like most weeks.  Thank you for stopping by, we're happy you are here.

I think by now we are all aware of how addicted to home browsing I am.  I mean, I do it everyday.  I cannot stop.  I may have a problem, my husband would agree... but shhh... I will never admit I am the one with the problem.

Do you have this same issue?  If so, we must become BFF's immediately!  Then we can compare what you find and I find everyday and then decide how we can get all of this loveliness in our own homes!  Sounds like a plan to me.

First up, Jennifer Todryk wooed us with this lovely library.  You should have seen the before, you would not even recognize the space!  This is what gives me all the warm and fuzzies when I think about a space for just me, the pup, and my books.  Can you imagine all of the book reading I could do in this room?

Of course, on second thought, I may only just stare at the room all day and skip the reading.  In the past, I was never fond of monochromatic color schemes, but I have recently been dipping my toes in that pool.

I am also finding dark and moody is drawing me in these days which makes sense since so many classic English and British designs are like this.  I am not sure; however, if I can bring myself to paint the ceiling and walls all the same color.  The jury is still out on that idea.

I have been a fan of board and batten walls for so long I do not even recall when my obsession began.  I have wanted to  install them in our own home for some time.  Not everywhere, but in a few rooms anyway.

I am kind of fond of these walls since the pattern is a bit larger than what I typically see.  I also like when the board and batten only goes so far up the wall.  Such details and care that went into those older homes.

What are your thoughts on a boot room?  Well Cara, I have not thought about it one way or the other.  Why do you ask?

I love them is why I asked... now, could you just imagine you sitting there putting on and taking off your boots here every morning and evening when it is chilly outside?  Are you seeing all of the lovely storage built in here too?

If this amount of detail went into a boot room, imagine what the rest of the home looks like.

I would love for my laundry to be combined for what we call a mud room.  No more dreaded up and down the steps for me.  Maybe one day I will have that room I have dreamt up in this brain of mine.

Here comes the dark and moody I was telling you about.  Do you have the same fascination as I do?  I am like oh, come on over dark and moody, you can stay here in our cottage.

I love a herringbone floor and then that dark almost slate or charcoal gray... yes, I am all in.  Can you imagine that light fixture, and marble sink, and brass fixtures in your bath?

I can honestly say I have been thinking long and hard about it.  The thing with me, it takes me forever to make up my mind, but once I do?  Watch out, I will love it forever!

Okay, last one before we take the plunge into this weekend.

A bit of whimsy thrown in with this dark and moody room and I cannot say I am hating it.  I chuckled when I saw the bird prints.  It is like bird meets Edgar Allen Poe.  I am a huge fan of black and white historical photos and this one does not disappoint.

I also enjoy how in English design they utilize the walls with many pictures being hung on the walls.  I'd like to fill just one wall in this home like this room above, just one.  It gives the eye quite a bit to take in, and for some reason I find it comforting.

There are some interiors that I find overwhelming, but this one not so for me anyway.  It could be that all of the hangings also have a lot of black in them so they somewhat blend into the walls.

Well, that concludes our Fab Friday Finds.  Do you enjoy them as much as I do in finding photos to share with you?  Let us know, drop us a line in our comment section.   I find myself stepping outside my comfort zone in finding new and different designs for us.  I get tired of seeing the same old thing, and I am assuming you feel the same way.

So we found some exceptional shares below.  Check out that board and batten, I was in awe... no commitment, just the way I like things when I am not sure exactly what I want.
