Autumn grapevine wreath

Fall in Love with This DIY Autumn Grapevine Wreath Idea

Hey there, fellow autumn lovers!  Are you on the hunt for the perfect grapevine wreath to grace your front door or dining room?  Well, look no further because we've got an ingenious autumn grapevine idea to share with you that'll make your decor pop like a jack-o'-lantern on Halloween night.

Picture this: I embarked on a treasure hunt in my attic a couple of weekends ago, and what did I unearth?  A relic from my single gal days - a chippy black frame, origin unknown but dripping with character.  It turns out that hoarding those quirky frames pays off!

Remember the scrapbook craze that swept through town a few years back?  Well, a local shop was saying sayonara to that fad, and I snagged some unique scrapbook paper on clearance.  But hold on, I wasn't jumping onto the scrapbooking bandwagon - I had bigger plans.  I fancied myself an artist-in-the-making!

I decided to turn this scrapbook paper into a work of art by framing it.  But the piece de resistance?  A brass piece that looked like it escaped from the scrapbook aisle but had me thinking "door knocker".  I mixed it all together, and viola, it became the centerpiece of my end tables in my living room decor.

Fast forward several years, and I decided to drag it out of the attic and hang it on the dining room walls to suit my moody fall decor.  The wall stared back at me, feeling sort of bland.

I couldn't leave the wall bare above the frame, so I decided to whip up a wreath.  I also added black feathers to the shopping list because, let's face it, who doesn't need more black feathers in their life?

Walmart came to the rescue with grapevine wreaths, and I had these fancy picks lying around.  I stuck 'em in the wreath and paused to ponder my next move.  Suddenly, inspiration struck like a bolt of lightning, and in went the black feathers alongside the golden ball picks.

I even crafted a plaster of paris piece from a mold, but alas, it met its untimely demise while being wired down.  Well, creativity sometimes meets a messy end too!

With the wreath hanging on the wall, I took a step back and thought, blah.  I mean, who wants to see a command strip anyway?  So, I flipped the wreath upside down, but it still felt lacking - more blah!

I mulled it over for nearly a week, staring at the wreath like it held the secrets of the universe.  Then, I decided to give it another shot.

Off the wall it came, and I added more feathers on top and a couple more ball picks.  Suddenly, the wreath gods smiled down on me, and all was right in the wreath world.

Creativity is a journey my friends.  Sometimes you have a clear vision; other times, you're just winging it.  But that's the beauty of it - you work with what you've got until you create something spectacular.

This wreath, by the way, gives off serious 1920's vibes - and that's perfectly okay with me.  In fact, it even reminds me of a fancy hat, ha!

As for my fall decor, I'm slowly but surely adding those cozy touches.  If I move any slower, Christmas might beat me to the finish line.  Let's hope not, because I'm all about those cool, brisk mornings and evenings.

So friends, are you prepping your abode for the fall fiesta?  Has autumn's charm whispered its way into your thoughts?  As for me, I'm dreaming of cooler days ahead, while this wreath adds a touch of vintage chic to my home.

Stay turned for more fall-tastic adventures, and remember, creativity knows no bounds - so go out there and craft something wonderful today!
