How to make an easy Valentine's Day project

Searching how to make an easy Valentine's project?  We have just the one for you that is super simple to make and can be modified for any holiday.

Sorry I have been absent for a few weeks... illness took me down and now we already half way through February!  My, how time flies!  With Valentine's Day literally around the corner, I thought I would share with you a craft we posted last year that is very simple and can be modified for any holiday.

I wanted to make something for Valentine's Day, but I was ready for an easy project today.  This is probably the easiest one I have ever created!

I went shopping in the attic and found another set of candle holders that I used for our small winter arrangement  currently in the dining room.

Now comes the fun stuff... miniature pom poms, of course!  If you have little ones, you can task them with the chore of separating the pom pom colors you wish to use.  😉  I like a project that serves as a double duty project the whole family can be a part of.

I thought about what I wanted out of this project.  At first, I was going to add miniature candles on top of the pom poms, but then I decided to go a different route.

Were you expecting my twinkle lights?  I love them in everything of course!  I hid the battery pack down in the pom poms and kept adding pom poms and layering the lights throughout.  Anything that lights up is high on my list.

Notice my table runner has pom poms on it too?  Can't tell I really like them, now can you?  It's the small things in life that make me happy.  They remind me of being a kid and creating crafts.  Do you also have those items in life that make you smile when you think back to your childhood?

We finally cleared the dining room table, since the painting I was working on will take forever.  Do you know this painting I shared with you last year is still not complete?  Maybe one of these days I will have the time to complete it.

Hmmm.. I year later and I am still sharing how I need a new work space for crafts.  Some things never change around here.  Although, when I am feeling better, we do have a plan for a craft space for me.  Mr. VS and I had all sorts of ideas in December for the new year, and we have not been able to share any of them with you.  Fingers crossed we are able to get back to projects soon.

I was not ready to let go of my little red truck... so it stuck around with the mercury glass trees on our dining room table for winter.  It works for me, for now... I do seem to get a thrill changing up décor around here, do you get excited giving your home a new look like I do?

Well, another project in the books, you could really do this for any holiday and see how easy it is?  I could even see this at a baby shower (all pink, all blue, or even mixed together) for a game, guess how many pom poms are in the candle holders!  That is what I call double duty!  Looks cute and serves a purpose.

Red, green, and white at Christmas, green for St. Paddy's Day which is right around the corner, and pastels in spring, dark colors in the fall... the best part is that it is a low cost project too.  I already had the lights, candle holders, and recently ordered the pom poms for another project I would like to try, but decided to pull these colors out for Valentine's Day.  The possibilities are endless, and those are my favorite kind of projects, low budget, easy, and a little fun sprinkled throughout our home.  I think the details are what make home for each of us.

    1. Thanks for hosting Dee. It was an oldie... I was never one to decorate for holidays except Christmas of course, but I enjoyed this one.
